Miguel Alejandro VO

A life-long performer turned educator and scholar, turned voice actor, Miguel Alejandro, brings a refreshingly new spin on the traditional commercial read, sending shockwaves across the industry, throughout the Americas, and beyond.

Part 1: THE WHY

​

In his early years, Miguel clutched spots in advanced school, all-county, and all-state choirs; starred in high school and college musicals like Les Mis, The Wiz, Beauty and the Beast, and Evita; competed in regional and national singing competitions for young artists; and later studied classical voice at a top U.S. conservatory of music, while also double majoring in Latin American studies and completing a study abroad in Chile.  

 

He would go on to perform in bilingual (Spanish/English) stage productions for children and adults at the nationally renowned GALA Hispanic Theatre and then deepened his non-profit work by managing after-school programs for underserved, Latino immigrant youth in the greater Washington D.C. area. 

 

His emerging passion to grasp the roots of systemic issues affecting ordinary people then led him to the Center for the Study of Social Policy where he saw how philanthropic action and community-led initiatives based in Los Angeles, CA can bring about positive change.

 

Time in the workforce inspired him to pursue a PhD in American studies.  However, due to his early success in Spanish and English voice over markets, he paused his research to commit to his new artistic and business endeavor full-time.  It's been 3 years since then, and while grateful for all the inspiring books he's read, he steadfastly hasn't looked back.

As much as music and song has been part of his journey, acting, grass-roots level community work, and cultural education has also shaped him as an artist and person. 

 

Part 2: THE HOW 

​

Equipped with some of the best formal training a young musician can get anywhere - coupled with the all too raw experience of guiding misunderstood youth who find themselves far away from home, and the skill needed to interpret critical, written works - Miguel brings a genuinely rare perspective to the table when looking at a script, communicating a message, and telling everyday stories grounded in extraordinary life.

 

His usual kind, approachable, and sincere personality helped bring to life wonderfully engaging medical and educational projects for Pfizer, the Smithsonian, the Milwaukee Public Museum, Harvard Health Publishing, learning and gaming apps for kids, and others, while his explosively physical and high-octane deliveries booked him with franchise giants like the U.S. Major League Soccer, the Pokémon Company, Adidas, Maison Margiela, 7-Eleven, Tákis, and Coca-Cola.

Part 3: THE WAY

​

"A vocal booth is basically just a stage.  How so?  It's nearly just as hot."

To access the right voice for a given project, my philosophy is that you must know or believe you know a bit about the person saying the thing, which calls for a fine-tuned ear, playfulness, and an open heart. 

 

Words on a page are always more than words.  I should know because I spend a lot of time writing and rewriting my own work (no AI assist found here...), including this bio.

 

Lines on the page are brimming with a "place", a "someone", a "purpose", and even a "dream".  And my extensive musical training, time bringing joy to live audiences, work in multicultural communities, and rigorous educational and professional experiences are well suited to tell these kinds of stories. 

 

My repeat clients expect a one-of-a-kind type of excellence, while my new clients are often left with their eyes swelling with gratitude; happily blind-sided by not just booking your average VO talent, but a performer who wields an unmistakable star-power, livening commercials, promos, and characters to no end, and an artist whose earth-bound humility can harken even the weariest of hearts so that it may, yet once more, consider the hard thing.
